Facts: Our client was represented by another firm in the Local Court and received a conviction for a common assault on his partner in a domestic violence context.  We called our client to give evidence and allowed him to explain the circumstances in which the offence occurred.

Result:  His Honour dealt with the matter by way of a section 10 dismissal and our client avoided a criminal conviction of any kind.
