CASE STUDY – Sexual Assault – jury trial

The Facts: Indecent Assault committed upon victim. Police called. Admissions made. Subsequent complaint made of sexual assault. Plea offered to indecent assault – rejected by DPP 6 months prior to trial.

Result: Pre-trial negotiations resulted in sexual assault charge being withdrawn. Plea accepted to indecent assault and client placed on good behavior bond.
