Facts – the client had consumed alcohol over a period of 12 hours at various locations around Sydney – on calling her partner to collect her and drive her home, she has become involved in a heated altercation with her partner. Her partner had called the Police to attend. When the Police have arrived, they have attempted to gather information on what was occurring from the partner. The client has attempted to punch her partner, and has been arrested. In being escorted to the Police truck, the client has kicked the arresting officer to the groin area, causing immediate pain.

Result – after gathering a comprehensive psychological report to identify certain underlying issues manifested in continued alcohol abuse, the client was placed on a good behaviour bond under section 9 of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999 for a period of 12 months, with continuing guidance from her psychologist.
