Trevor Nyman - Retired Criminal Defence Lawyer

Trevor Nyman practiced in criminal law for over thirty years. Trevor's reputation and experience make him a valued consultant. He was one of the first criminal lawyers accredited by the Law Society of New South Wales as a Criminal Law Specialist and has served on the Law Society’s Criminal Law Committee and Specialist Accreditation Committee for criminal lawyers. Trevor was an Adjunct Professor at the College of Law and the University of Technology, Sydney for over ten years. He regularly taught advocacy and criminal law at the University. He has written and presented many seminars to the legal profession.

In Trevor's own words, the firm started "when legendary Criminal / Divorce lawyer Ted France decided to confine his work to Family Law, he asked me, still in my mid 20s, to take over his Criminal defence law practice in about 1965. The practice in Crime burgeoned and I employed Sharron Crews, a young graduate, in 1984. Ted France had died, and the practice became Trevor Nyman & Co, then Nyman & Crews. As it grew, we put on more staff, and along came Phillip Gibson. The Firm is one of the only ones to have delivered two appointments to the Local Court Bench (possibly the only one)."
